"It is not love that should be depicted as blind, but self-love." Voltaire
There are far too many choices To narrow down to just one I enjoy music and soft voices The dance of souls, just for fun
I can enjoy a good man for awhile But none kept the magic too long They may excite, or make me smile But truth will reveal what's all wrong
Like the one minute man, let's just say Well this really needs no explaining He could be good in many other ways But I really prefer deep penetrating...
Exchanges of the mind of course I may be wild, free spirited, and yet Not a whore, just a beautiful force... of nature who's thrilled by fervid sex
And all other sensations he can offer Bonus provided for shared interests Unintelligent types, just don't bother I need phenomenal and delicious
Some took me down that path together Seemed good, felt right also undercover Then after a year or more, not forever... Failing to state his love till it's over
Too little, too late my good men Your good fortune with me to dance Out of sight, but never forgotten I'll say it again, you had your chance
A few great loves along the way But just not meant to be, you see So many moved near or far away To other cities, states, or countries
So for now, I choose to dance alone Or sometimes with a familiar partner My heart not yet turned to stone Just older, wiser, softer, smarter
For one or two, I may hold the window But don't hold your breath much longer As I'm whole and content to dance alone Being older, wiser, and so much stronger
